Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition that is similar to arthritis. It can control your life with flare-ups that create stiffness, pain and fatigue. The symptoms of fibromyalgia are widespread pain in your muscles, ligaments and tendons, chronic fatigue and multiple tender points on your body. The signs of fibromyalgia are chronic, widespread pain, fatigue, and heightened pain in response to pressure. Other related health issues may include depression, anxiety, headaches, tingling of the skin, prolonged muscle spasms, weakness in the limbs, nerve pain, restless leg syndrome, arthritis, endometriosis, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), depression, lupus and chronic fatigue.
As you read my blogs I hope that you understand that many diseases are very closely related and many illnesses have the same side symptoms, which are signs of an acidic pH. Many fibro patients experience brain fog or what has been nicknamed "fibrofog", which may be distinguished by impaired concentration, and problems with short and long-term memory. Brain fog is not unique to fibromyalgia, there is also "chemobrain," where excess cellular waste has created congestion and those with allergies complain of brain fog. Foggy thinking is just a sign your lymphatic system is congested especially in the neck and head.
The sore and painful areas are where tendons and ligaments attach to the bones. Tendons and ligaments are like tough, inelastic leather and has very little blood and lymph vessels. Because of the limited circulation acid waste builds in the tendons, ligaments and muscles creating your pain. Even though it may hurt to move you have to begin moving slowly to increase circulation through your body because circulation removes damaging acid waste. First you need to improve lymph flow in the body to help detox the acidic waste.
Fibromyalgia, like arthritis, is a disease of limited circulation, where acidic waste (like lactic acid and parts of dead cells) build in the affected area of your body. A flare-up often occurs after some physical activity like grocery shopping, stress or a trip to a doctor. That bit of exertion is releasing stored waste that further congests the body, making you more acidic, tighter, tired, and increases your pain. It’s a very simple concept, you have fibromyalgia because you are acidic and toxic, which limits your circulation. When you exert yourself you are increasing your circulation and moving waste through the body, which makes you more tired, sore, anxious or irritable.
Not understanding how exertion increases circulation and detoxification, those with fibromyalgia limit their activities and allow waste to continually build in the body. The next time you exert yourself the released waste may create another flare-up or depression. With fibromyalgia you need to begin detoxing waste from the body slowly to avoid flare-ups. Start by eating more alkaline food, drinking more alkaline water and deep breathing. As you begin to feel stronger add some daily light exercise and alkalizing supplements. Many individuals with fibromyalgia cannot stand the pressure of being massaged. Activating the lymphatic system is a very gentle and effective way to increase circulation and lymphatic system detoxification in your body.
